E² [eats + exercise]

A newbie at working out and eating healthy; this is a chronicle of what happens when I try.

Breakfast: Granola| Snack: Handful of penguin crackers & mini matcha lattle kit kat bar| Lunch: see picture | Snack: Shredded pork bun & two mini pieces of garlic bread | Dinner: Beef brisket, Korean rice and kimchi.

  • Breakfast: slice of French bread with hummus
  • Snack: onion ring chips >_<
  • Lunch: Korean rice, pork belly with preserved veggies and cabbage 
  • Snack: Yellow pepper, cucumber and tomato salad with white wine vinegar, olive oil and sesame oil dress (YUM!) and More onion rings (>_<)
  • Dinner: Went to Goldfish Seafood and Chops for their Dine-out and had a cured salmon salad, seafood bouillabaisse and crème brule. The meal was delicious, a pity that they will be closing.

  • Breakfast: granola & yogurt
  • Snack: penguin crackers (like Goldfish crackers, except less salty and cheaper!)
  • Lunch: green beans, dry garlic ribs, poutine (>_< complete fail with the poutine, I know, but it was so delicious)
  • Snack: yellow peppers
  • Dinner: korean rice, cabbage, pork belly with preserved veggies; unsweetened apple sauce; slice of french bread with hummus

Yesterday’s workout was so tiring; I don’t know if it was because the gym’s A/C wasn’t on as high, but I was sweating like crazy. 

  • Warm-up: 15 mins on treadmill 
  • 20 seconds on, 10 seconds rest, 2 reps 
    • Burpees
    • Squat Jumps
    • Plank
    • Mountain Climbers
  • 5 sets, 10 reps
    • Kettlebell Overhead Swing
    • Skip Rope: 30 seconds
    • Tuck Jumps
    • Spiderman
      • 10 on each side
    • Burpees

I wanted to start building my running endurance, but it turns out that the arch on my shoe is too high for my left foot and within 5 mins, I started getting pains in my foot. So, I stopped and just walked the rest of the 10 minutes. I guess it’s time to shop for some new runners.

meal journal: #1

  • Breakfast: McCain pizza pocket (yea, not the healthiest…)
  • Snack: handful of dried fruit mixed with almonds
  • Lunch: vermicelli with enoki mushrooms, wood ear fungus and beef balls and almost a full cup of Kirin milk tea
  • Snack: half of a homemade egg salad wrap with avocado
  • Snack: yellow peppers
  • Dinner: two slices of french bread; romaine, cauliflower, kale, almond, chicken breast salad with balsamic vinegar dressing; a scoop of macaroni salad

Workout consisted of playing dodgeball - only won two games, but we are in effing tier 1. 

Breakfast was a slice of Asian walnut cake; lunch was veggies, with a bit of rice and some Costco chicken. A Babybel block of cheese and cup of aloe juice to accompany my lunch. Dinner, well I forget what I had. 

The day’s snack consisted of a small bag of popcorn twists and edamamae beans.
